Dear Comrade Boyen Baleva, dear comrades,
warm Marxist-Leninist, anti-capitalist and proletarian internationalist greetings from the Italian Marxist-Leninist Party (PMLI).
Many thanks for your kind invitation to take part in the important Amsterdam Conference you have organized to celebrate the centennial of the Great October Socialist Revolution. Unfortunately, we are not able to send a delegate of our Party, nevertheless we wish to let you as well as all participants in the conference, who we warmly greet, know the standpoint of the PMLI on such a glorious event that changed the course of the history of the world and mankind, and that still inspires genuine Communists and all the conscious and aware exploited and oppressed in all countries.
The Great October Socialist Revolution showed that capitalism and imperialism are not invincible. A people united with the proletariat at their head, armed with Marxism-Leninism and under the leadership of a strong and well-rooted Marxist-Leninist party is capable of beating them to dust. It also showed that the proletariat can seize political power and build socialism.
It is the concrete example of the value and superiority of Marxism-Leninism over liberalism and of socialism over capitalism. Even now it is the watershed between genuine Marxist-Leninists and revisionists, renegades of Communism.
The great victory of the October is to be attributed mainly to the extraordinary theoretical, political, organizational, educational and practical experience of Lenin’s. Stalin is to be credited particularly with defending and developing it while carrying on the building of the first socialist state in history.
Lenin and Stalin firmly fought against revisionists hidden in the party who were undermining socialist revolution and realization of socialism. The problem is that Stalin, also due to a lack in experience, believed he had got rid of them completely, just like he believed he had rooted classes out. When he realized the mistake, it was too late. This is why, after his death, revisionists led by Khrushchev could overthrow socialist USSR and restore capitalism.
Such a bitter lesson should not be forgotten even when, as today, we work to re-awake the revolutionary conscience of the masses and to give the proletariat its conscience as a class for itself. This means that we should give no room to revisionists, opportunists and political swindlers dressed as Communists, who support socialism in words, but actually hinder our revolutionary political work. This also means that we should firmly uphold Marxism-Leninism-Mao Thought, careful not to contaminate it with theories that have nothing to do with socialism and Communism, such as Gramsci’s and Chavez’s.
Just like the USSR and other former socialist countries, starting with China, socialism can be overthrown from the inside by the revisionists. Mao, however, gave us the theoretical, political and organizational weapon to prevent this through the Proletarian Cultural Revolution, which, if necessary, can be carried out multiple times in order to defend socialism and proletarian dictatorship and to prevent capitalist restoration.
The fundamental point is always the same—keeping revisionists at bay and putting in them in a condition not to produce harm to class struggle, party building and socialist construction in any of their stages. This is possible only if we use Marxism-Leninism-Mao Thought to educate our party members and revolutionary masses, if we mobilize them in the struggle against revisionists, and if we correctly apply the revolutionary theory to concrete conditions of the countries where we are working.
Socialism is the only and true class alternative to capitalism. Capitalism will never be able to completely handle all the problems, social injustice and the territorial, social and gender inequalities created by itself, least of all it will be able to handle such problems as the exploitation of man by man, the existence of classes, migrations and so on. It feeds on the blood and sweat of the proletariat, workers and peoples it plunders and reduces to poverty through its wars for conquest and supremacy, like it has happened in the Middle East, Libya, Afghanistan and other countries.
There is a concrete risk that inter-imperialist contradictions, especially between US imperialism and Chinese social-imperialism on the background, give way to a world war. We should take advantage of this to overthrow the bourgeois ruling class in our countries, in case it will take part in this war, and establish socialism. Starting from now we should propose this perspective to the proletariat and its allies, especially the peasants.
We have the revolutionary and proletarian internationalist duty to support any anti-imperialist people or movement that rebels against the diktats of imperialism, including the Islamic State, although we do not agree with its ideology, strategy and some of its fighting methods, like terrorist attacks against innocent and blameless masses.
As history shows, only socialism can give the proletariat and the masses all they need in the political, economic, social and cultural spheres.
Every country should thus follow the path of the October, according to different phases requested by their own conditions. We Italian Marxist-Leninists for 40 years have been marching with strength and faith along the path of the October towards united, red and socialist Italy. This includes overthrowing capitalism and the bourgeois ruling class through socialist revolution. Meanwhile, we are fighting against Gentiloni’s government, inspired by the new duce Renzi, which manages their affairs and carries on a wildly anti-labour policy in domestic affairs and imperialist interventionism abroad.
As the PMLI Central Committee says in a document that is going to be published on 25th October, “The path of the October is still open, the example of the Great Soviet Socialist Revolution has not extinguished, the value of Marxism-Leninism-Mao Thought and socialism is still intact. Sooner or later, they will win back the sympathy and support of the proletariat, and give it the strength to throw earth and sky upside down.”
Comrades who have gathered at the Amsterdam Conference, let us hold high the invincible red flag of socialism, unite and work together to make socialism triumphant across the whole world!
Eternal glory to Lenin, Stalin and Russian Marxist-Leninists of the October!
In solidarity,
The Commission for International Relations of the Central Committee of the PMLI
